Our ice cream has no artificial additives, colours or preservatives. Each Guernsey cow is known and her health is monitored daily. The milk is constantly tested and goes straight from the milking parlour to our kitchens where it is cooked into award winning ice cream.Our cows are not fed unnecessary supplements. Everything they eat is natural. They have constant access to water.In the dairy, the staff are trained in hygiene and have to take regular Food Handling certificate exams.The kitchens also have to come up to strict hygiene standards. Milk and cream are notoriously tricky to control, but as our milk does not have to travel off the farm, it is cooled and cooked within the same day.From the last days in March as the weather warms up, the cows go out each day until the weather gets chilly, then they come indoors again, and are bedded down in straw over Winter. We have a regular vet, and if a cow has any problem it is dealt with straight away. We have over a hundred milk yielding cows on the farm currently. This is a manageable number. Too many cows and the farmer will not have time to study them all. New stock is born on the farm
